Today, we celebrate International Women's Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the achievements of women and raising awareness about the challenges they continue to face. International Women's Day is a day that holds a special place in my heart. I have learned from the countless stories of women who have persevered and made great strides in the face of adversity. I am inspired by the courage, resilience, and strength of women who have paved the way for future generations. As such, today we observe and honor the achievements of women while recognizing the challenges that still lie ahead. It is a time to reflect on the progress that has been made, but also to acknowledge that there is much more work to be done.
The Government of Canada 2023 theme is #EveryWomanCount, which reminds us that we all have a role to play in creating a more equitable world. We must challenge gender stereotypes, biases, and discrimination to create a more inclusive society.
Reflection
I would like to reflect on the progress that has been made towards gender equality. Over the years, women have made significant strides in various fields, breaking barriers and smashing stereotypes. Growing up, I had strong women in my life who served as role models and taught me the importance of advocating for gender equality. However, I also saw how they faced numerous challenges and barriers in their personal and professional lives, simply because of their gender. These experiences made me acutely aware of the ongoing struggle for gender equality and the importance of advocating for women's rights. As we contemplate the strides made towards gender parity, it's vital to recognize women's role in molding our society. Women have acted as trailblazers, visionaries, and catalysts for change, and their valuable contributions have enhanced our communities and the world at large.

This includes providing equal access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
